1. Irvine Lab Workshop – new sounds for electronic music

Video image

This year a new direction was initiated in the IRVINE project – the musical experimentation with the analog synthesizer. This July a small group of musicians was invited to the very first open lab session as part of our “Artists in Residence” program hosted by AVL Cultural Foundation. Among the guests were musician, composer and piano connoisseur Rupert Huber, as well as electronic expert Valerio Dittrich alias MOTSA and Graz-borne musician Markus Graf. They experimented together on the Irvine in a comfortable atmosphere and spent the evening exchanging creative ideas. Two more workshops are planned for September. The main focus next time will be set on jazz and new music.
